MASTERS HES-SO IN FINE ARTS

Head – Genève offers three specialisations in the Master of Arts HES-SO in Fine Arts:

Research-Based Master Programme CCC – Critical Curatorial Cybermedia
TRANS – Art Education
WORK.MASTER – Contemporary artistic practices

These programmes offer high calibre arts training based on a broad, cross-disciplinary approach to practical experience with research placed at the centre of their educational programme. These three specialisations —with strong identities and distinct methodologies—aim to encourage the emergence of creative figures in the widest sense who are independent and able to assert themselves in the fast-moving world of contemporary art. Involving numerous international contributors, the training offered is in association with various partner institutions, combining specific objectives and a common core curriculum, individual teaching and encounters throughout Switzerland. Right from the start, students are part of a genuine cooperative platform, open to the reality of the art world; they deal with life-size projects: exhibitions, conferences, publications...

Their research, pivotal to their training, makes it possible to unite the different taught elements to enhance their personal project, in order to finally shape their own trajectory.

The three majors of the master programmes at Head – Genève are constituents of the Masters HES-SO in Fine Arts which also offers two other majors at Ecal – Lausanne (EAE – European Art Ensemble) and at Ecav – Sierre (MAPS – Art in the Public Sphere). In addition, they are incorporated into the Masterplatform. ch, which brings together the different Masters in Fine Arts of Swiss universities.

Head of the Fine Arts Department: Yann Chateigné
