Photography – Video – Media, Self-media – Curatorial Practices – Documentary Practices – Interventions
By promoting exchanges and navigation between video, photography and the new media, this option highlights their uses as critical instruments, in an artistic logic rooted in the contemporary world. If adding images to a spectacular world already saturated with them is not sufficient, it is up to the artist today to establish a unique relationship to his or her cultural and social environment. This relationship can be expressed through fiction or autofiction as well as through the document, the construction of archives, re-appropriation, the sociological or anthropological investigation, hacktivism, participation in collectives and communities… In all cases, the images resulting from these activities are all questions addressed to our society.
