Daniel Sciboz (b. 1973). Trained as a graphic designer he graduated in 1995 and worked for several studios including Atelier Roger Pfund (Geneva) and Weiersmüller Bosshard Grüninger WBG (Zürich). He started studying Media Design at HEAD-Geneva in 2001 and completed a MA degree in Contemporary Arts and New Media at University Paris 8 in 2006. His research focused on the relations between Global Positioning System and art. It was completed with a series of interactive-video essays mixing GPS data with digital movies. Since then he gave several talks and workshops in Switerzland and France about locative media and the use of GPS technology in creative practices. As a designer hes works in the field of graphic and web design along with contributions to research projects and events organisation that are related to new media. Formerly professor for typography at the School of Applied Arts in La Chaux-de-Fonds from 2001 to 2009. He currently teaches graphic and media design, as co-head of the Media Design master programme at Geneva University of Art and Design and as a regular teacher at the School of Visual Arts in Biel/Bienne.
