In 2022/23, the CCC Public Seminar engages with scenarios of transnational belongings, affects, civic imagination and critical forms of publicness. The programme focuses on the agency of communities of practice in deconstructing narratives of nation-states and prospecting alternative solidarity contexts. How may transnational affective practices contribute to decentre Western-based notions of borders and territorialities? What alternative mappings emerge through new visions of citizenship and political belonging? How may aesthetic cooperation facilitate alternative forms of togetherness and commonalities?

Along with Trinh T. Minh-ha, the Transnational Citizenships CCC Public Seminar will address the problematics of the “here versus there” to navigate around the silences that these oppositions entail to challenge historical processes and current political configurations.
