As part of ” the week of all is possible” (26-30 October 2015 ), 18 HEAD students worked with Youri Kravtchenko and Lawrence Breitling, EPFL architects, on the realization of a concept for the scenography of the TEDGlobal conference. Students, mostly from the Bachelor Interior Architecture, but also Master Space and Communication, Bachelor Visual Communication and Jewellery Design had a week to develop a concept : Rocky.
Students were inspired by several works of art, including the series of paintings “The Isle of the Dead” of the Swiss painter Arnold Böcklin (19th century), the Dairy Queen, an artificial cave carved for Marie Antoinette at the Château de Rambouillet (18th century), as well as from the contemporary German artist Thomas Demand and his work “Processo Grottesco”.
The TEDGlobal conference was held at the Bâtiment des was Motrices in Geneva in December 2015. The final structure was carried out GALTA collective, composed of former students the HEAD.
