profile

In response to evolving conceptions of artistic production and its audience, the CCC Programme stresses openness to disciplines, that favour inventing meetings between researchers and involve multiple forms of production in an art field enlarged to include culture and society.

By the presence of a mobile faculty coming from very diverse experiences and cultures, and within the frame of an art school networked with many other institutions and located in an international city, the Study Programme ensures that students have the contacts essential to complete their projects. It furthermore supports diffusion of the work through its public activities, including curatorial and editorial projects.

aims

The work is organised around three axes: research, training in research, and means of exchange. The research develops artistic issues and questions in Switzerland and abroad in relation to other fields and experiences. The visual and discursive work published entails highly diverse forms of production and distribution.

An interest for artistic research is fully developed through the Programme, which demands sensuous and audacious thinking and exacting practice.

a transdisciplinary research platform
professional perspectives

CCC operates as an exchange platform where teachers, young researchers and students from diverse backgrounds and expertise work together in a wide range of disciplines, eager to share their knowledge and skills and willing to work with specialists from other areas.

The Programme is founded on a pedagogy that is critical, alternative, participatory, and evolutionary, and that encourages the sharing of resources and competences as well as collaborative dynamics.

Research practices emphasize transdisciplinarity, a method used to cross heterogeneous, decentralized, collaborative modes of production and empirical data as well as to observe the transformation of concepts, practices and discourse in their process of migration through the disciplines.

CCC Programme promotes the sharing of ideas and encourages initiatives that foster the skills, energy and generosity of everyone. Investigations and research are carried out in the means of reproduction and experimental media.

The Programme supports an artistic practice that is situated, discursive, interventionist, inscribed historically and socially, and engaged in the public sphere or civil society, understood as the scene of debate and deliberation, as a site between private space and institutions.

Graduates of the CCC Research-Based Master Programme find opportunities in a wide range of jobs, professions and careers, according to the diversity of their academic curriculum and specializations in the fields of study offered.

Among the most common options in the private or public sector (schools, NGOs, activist communities, neighbourhood communities, community centres, art centres, theatres, graphic design studios, independent newspapers, specialised press, etc) one can note pure and applied research, education, special education, cultural production, newspaper and zine production, arts administration, public relations, graphic design, production and management of alternative spaces, documentary film production, work with humanitarian agencies and non-governmental organizations, cultural events organisation, website creation, creation of self-organized enterprises or services office, etc.
The learning period outlines the models and opens up potential avenues through meetings and partnerships with people engaged in these civic activities.
