CCC MRes research-based master

The CCC Pre-Doctorate/PhD MA programme is a foundation course preparing for research through arts. It teaches how to write the application files for a doctoral level. It emphasizes the dissemination of the outputs. It supports the creation of a network of contacts adequate to the research project in order to provide transdisciplinary supervisors.

The term « MRes » identifies the students benefiting from ECTS credits equivalent to the first year MA. (a CCC postgraduate diploma or a MA diploma in another field).

The CCC Pre-Doctorate/PhD MA is a monthly programme (one-year full time or two years part-time). It is organized into regular courses and seminars. The research projects and tutorials are linked to a network of transdisciplinary fields of study. The students already holding a MA diploma can get up to 60 credits equivalence to be able to attend one year full time programme.

Year 1 is devoted to the configuration of the research topic and the research questions. It proposes modules on specific issues; writing workshops; clusters seminars; cross-platforms on the research complex practices.
Intense exercises of methodology help to recognize adequate methods for the production of outputs. The students have to attend the methodology training courses, critical and cultural studies, integrated to the lab workshops.

Year 2 proposes modules on specific issues; clusters seminars; cross-platforms on the research complex practices. Research Best Practice Seminar aims to the dissemination of the research outputs, to the completion of the doctoral application file and to the realization of the supervising and co-supervising contacts.

Year 1
The first year emphasizes the research training. The students have to attend the following courses:

  • Critical Studies & Cultural Studies
  • Research Méthodology ad writing workshop
  • Transdisciplinary modules (6 to 8 lectures/workshops per year)

At the end of the first year, the research project, approved by the Faculty, is a precondition to be enrolled in year 2.


Year 2
The second year aims to the finalisation of the doctoral project : writing of the application files and initial contacts for supervising.

  • Independent research and in the clusters
