Anna Lowenhaupt Tsing est professeure émérite d'anthropologie à l'Université de Californie à Santa Cruz et titulaire de la chaire Niels Bohr à l'Université d'Aarhus, au Danemark. Parmi ses ouvrages figurent : In the Realm of the Diamond Queen: Marginality in an out-of-the-way Place (1994) ; Frictions: An Ethnography of Global Connections (2005) ; The Mushroom at the End of the World: On the Possibility of Life in Capitalist Ruins (2015) ; et, en collaboration avec Jennifer Deger, Alder Keleman Saxena et Feifei Zhou, Field Guide to the Patchy Anthropocene: The New Nature (2024). Elle a codirigé, avec Nils Bubandt, Elaine Gan et Heather Anne Swanson, l'ouvrage Arts of Living on a Damaged Planet.
