Its origins go back to the 1970s, when a citizen science project was set up to collect records about the Swiss flora and incorporate them into a distribution atlas. Evolving over time into a multilingual, internationally networked data and information center with online and offline publications, interactive maps, and smartphone applications, the project was reorganized under the name Info Flora in 2012.
