Décoloniser les nuits. Réflexions sur l’habiter nocturne contemporain
As part of the MIDIS ARCHI lecture series, you are cordially invited by the Interior Architecture Department at HEAD – Geneva to attend a lecture by Luc GWIAZDZINSKI, which will take place on Monday, October 26, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Room 4.05 in Building H.
Luc Gwiazdzinski is a geographer, researcher, and professor at the École nationale supérieure d’architecture de Toulouse. A pioneer in research on urban temporalities and the night, he has spent more than twenty years exploring the transformation of cities, mobility, and ways of inhabiting nocturnal territories. He leads and contributes to numerous research programmes addressing cities, social rhythms, and mobility, at the intersection of social, territorial, and environmental issues. In his recent book, Décoloniser la nuit. Essai sur l’habiter nocturne contemporain (2026), he examines the growing “daytimization” of contemporary societies and invites us to rethink the night as a space-time in its own right, to be inhabited and governed differently.
