Élise Domenach

Élise Domenach is a lecturer at the ENS Louis-Lumière and a senior member of the IUF. A holder of the agrégation and a PhD in philosophy, she is the author of Stanley Cavell, le cinéma et le scepticisme (2011) and L’écran de nos pensées. Stanley Cavell, le cinéma et la philosophie (ed., 2021). Her writings on the philosophy of cinema have covered, amongst other topics, the Dardenne brothers’ films, American eco-cinema, Lav Diaz, Ryusuke Hamaguchi, and Japanese cinema. She has published Fukushima en cinéma. Voix du cinéma japonais/ Fukushima in Film. Voices from the Japanese Cinema (Tokyo, 2015) et Le Paradigme Fukushima au cinéma. Ce que voir veut dire (2011-2013) (Mimesis, 2022). As a film critic, she contributes to the journals Esprit and Positif.
